ICONICS Launches New Ireland Office
New Joint Venture with Dataworks Software Co. Bucks Economic Trend
FOXBOROUGH, MA/WATERFORD, IRELAND — May 4, 2009 — Today, ICONICS, a 2008 Microsoft Gold Certified Partner of the Year and provider of Web-enabled, OPC-based, HMI/SCADA Visualization and Manufacturing Intelligence software for Microsoft Windows® operating systems, announced the establishment of a new venture in Ireland, in cooperation with Dataworks Ltd., Southeastern Ireland’s leading custom software development company.
ICONICS Ireland Ltd., launched by Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment, Tánaiste Mary Coughlan, TD in Dublin, will be headed by Liam Curham, a director and co-founder, with Brian Robinson, of Dataworks, established in Waterford in 1995. The new company will strengthen the presence of ICONICS in Ireland. Dataworks, which currently employs 10 people, already specializes in the development of manufacturing and business performance solutions and has been the Irish distributor of ICONICS products since 2007.
The new ICONICS Ireland operation will initially recruit two software engineers, with plans to grow employment to ten people over the next three years. The new operation will be dedicated to sales, marketing and technical services for all ICONICS products throughout Ireland and will look to strengthen its hold on the Irish market, with particular focus on Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) in the manufacturing and life sciences sector and expanding HMI/SCADA in the sustainable energy sector. Dataworks, which has over 15 years of experience in the industry, will continue to provide its core services and solutions.
“Our ICONICS business has become an important and expanding part of our overall business since 2007,” said Liam Curham, Director at Dataworks and new Managing Director of ICONICS Ireland Ltd. “This new venture will enable us to leverage the ICONICS brand and their global success stories, whilst developing a closer business and technical relationship to help achieve further growth in our existing markets and to develop into other vertical markets where ICONICS is already a successful player, both in the UK and globally.”

Mayor of Waterford, Cllr Jack Walsh, congratulated Dataworks on its continued success and wished the company all the best in its new undertaking.
